Susan received a BFA in ceramics from the University of Iowa. After moving to Laramie, her focus shifted to photography, as she fell in love with Wyoming's vast expanse of land and sky. She is drawn to texture, movement, water and light as it plays across the high plains and mountains. She explores and photographs the Snowy Range, Vedauwoo, the Laramie Range, the Laramie Valley and Laramie, Wyoming where she lives.

Susan participates in exhibitions at ArtConnect Gallery. She has also exhibited at the biennial Touchstone Laramie hosted by the Laramie Artists Project and at Clay, Paper, Scissors Gallery in Cheyenne. Her work can be found in Laramie at Artisans' Gallery, Works of Wyoming, 2nd Story Books, the Curiosity Shop and at the Nicolaysen Museum Gift Shop in Casper.
